It's Manatee Appreciation Day and we all know that manatees never get enough love. I imagine is it because they are hard to hug. Regardless, I never get tired of the "Oh, the huge Manatee" joke. Though I imagine there aren't a lot of people who remember the Hindenburg and the radio announcer covering it's landing back in the 1940s and watching people jumping out of the burning dirigible and say, "Oh, the humanity."
Fortunately is is also National Lobster Newburg Day. And I believe even young people have heard of lobsters.
And as unbelievable as it sounds I actually have two lobster related t-shirts in my extensive Dizgraceland Dizigns t-shirt shop.
Unfortunately, although lobsters are small enough to hug, they are also small enough to fit in a boiling pot of water while they are alive before they are truly appreciated. Manatees can be grateful that they don't fit in cooking pot. Though Manatee Newburg doesn't sound very tasty.
