Faces

"Show me the face you had before you were born."
--Buddhist Koan

Let's face it, I've written about faces before. I did a Google search for "Show me the face you had before you were born" and I turned up my own blog post from two years ago. This was before anyone read my blog.

I started reading what I wrote and thought, 'This is pretty good.' I toyed with the idea of just copying and pasting it here and saving myself the trouble of coming up with a new post. Who would know?

I would. It is bad enough that I repeat myself without having to plagerize myself as well.

It makes me think of the times I catch myself repeating the same funny story to people at work and realizing I've told it before. Most people will just smile politely and let me repeat myself while they think, 'what a schmuck.'

But then again, stand-up comedians don't write new material for every performance. They repeat what works for new audiences. Blogging, however, is unforgiving when it comes to repeating yourself.

I refuse to post the "best of Dizgraceland" entries when I can't think of something original. Though you should read the original post that I started out to rewrite when I started this one.

Show me the blog I wrote before I was born.

The blog you wrote before you were born is the next one you write.

2 things I hate is people who lie and dishonest people. One in the same some would say. Nay not me.

What you see is what I am
I have always been an honest man
Lost in the blind
Stupidity of it all.........

You want an honest answer on anything, just ask the question. If you don't want to know the answer don't ask the question. Beware I may not give you the answer you seek..............

I ain't perfect but then I ain't a disgrace

But then.........Whitesnakes do it better........With a slip of the tongue..........

Wow!!! You weren't kidding. You were good even in the beginning.

But... if you'll check, you'll see that I was indeed reading you even back then. LOL Loved the post. I have way too many faces and photographers always manage to find the hideous one.

I read the original post - wonderful! Aren't the most interesting, disarming people the ones who don't plaster on a face to match the situation, but wear their face with brutal authenticity? I loved the Andy Warhol-esque pic you had to go along whith that post. Brilliant! JP

I have a friend who claims that if you put everyone in a room together that knows him - they would all recognize him because he is the same with everyone. I find that hard to believe because I think we do have different faces for different scenarios and it sort of protects us from injury, inquiry or insult.

I also find the above sort of sad because if I were his woman, I'd be upset that his "O" face looks exactly like his bored face. Major self-confidence sucker.....

Whitesnake,
Waxing poetic today, I see. And I honesly mean that.

Shandi, I know you have been stopping by for a long time, but I didn't think you were there for original 'Let's face it' post.

Lights, For a figment of my imagination, you sure are persistent.

JP, I'm not sure I've met an honest face. In my line of work they get in the way. Glad you liked the original photo!

Miss Bliss,
O my.
