Tomorrow is another day

If Kristy can publish photos of Sock Monkeys gone bad, I can post a photo of me as Scarlett O'Hara. I realize they are both very wrong things, but I won't worry about that today. Everything is relative (especially in Arkansas).

It has been an odd week in the news. An astronaut was arrested for driving from Houston to Orlando wearing diapers to threaten a woman she was jealous of with a BB-gun, garbage bags and a steel mallet. Anna Nicole Smith died and Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband claimed he was the father of her baby. Her ex-interior decorator Bobby Trendy is being interviewed on the FOX network as a definitive expert in the case.

Locally, in Washington state an initiative is threatened to go before voters requiring married couples to procreate within three years of getting married.

I really hope tomorrow is another day.

tim, you must be kidding me here. REQUIRING children? What are they thinking? And is the marriage "annulled" if they don't/can't produce a child? Will an adoption suffice? What if the couple is past childbearing, are they then forbidden to marry? What if they carry deadly genes?

ohmyohmyohmy. I never realized Washington had so many nut cases.

is this an anti-immigrant measure, so we aren't outnumbered, or is it an anti-gay measure to insure that gays can't marry?

ho-kay. went and got meself eddykated on wa-doma.org.

pretty funny strategy. almost fun enough to make me move to Wa so I could vote for it. This will be entertaining to watch.

Yes Hayden, the Washington procreation initiative is the Gay Rights equivalent to Swift's Modest Proposal. Unfortunately, there are enough right wing nuts here who might think this would be a good thing to support for the opposite reason.

A creative strategy, but how sad that we must go through these kinds of machinations just to do what's right. I so miss the days when common sense ruled society.

ONLY in America.

The land of the free....

I agree that it has been a weird month in general. They should get OJ on the Anna Nicole Smith case.

They are free to propose legislation without overt retaliation from the government. At the foundation though "Land of the Free" isn't and most Americans love it that way.

I'm not even sure how you can compare my demure and dignified sock monkeys with an abomination like your Scarlett O'hara inspired "portrait," but I'll leave that between you and whatever dark god you pray to. As for procreating within three years of marriage, as long as it doesn't apply to Tim Eyeman, I might be able to support it...

Kat, I'm too young to remember those days :)

Whitesnake, See my nephew R's response.

R., Are you saying OJ killed Anna Nicole? That would explain why Furman is also blathering on about the case.

Kristy,
You didn't think your sock monkey travesty would go unanswered did you? As for Tim Eyeman reproducing, that would merely require him to be cut two and grow a new tail like the flatworm he is. But then again we would have have twice the Eyeman and 1/4 of the brain.

It'll never get on the ballot here. I don't think there are enough nutcases to sign that thing...

At least I hope not. Gah, what a strange state we live in today.

Welcome Pamela, I doubt it will get on the ballot. I think just suggesting it got them the attention they were looking for.

It is an odd state. I've lived here for 27 years. It is still better than Idaho (where I was born).
