It's alive?

I feel a bit like Dr. Frankentim at times when I mess about with Photoshop and animation software. To mix metaphores, sometimes it is like Forrest Gumps box of chocolates: you never know what you are going to get.

For some reason I thought it would be interesting to put my face on Rasputin's (he was a Russian mystic who was the official psychic of sorts for the Romanov dynasty and greatly influenced Nicholas and Alexandra during the end of the Russian monarchy). He was sometimes referred to as the Mad Monk. Basically he had spooky eyes.

Because he had spooky eyes, I wanted to keep that part of his face and his pretty kick ass beard. So I ended up just putting my nose and mouth on his face. The result was pretty freakish, even by my standards. It kind of looked like Donny Osmond on acid. Add a little animation and I think I've created a monster.

I kind of like it.

morningstar, I've always thought art should provoke rather than just decorate. I take both comments as compliments. Thank you!

Boy, give me that software, a bit of learning, and imagine what I could do for that "other" blog. The possibilities are.......grin........nevermind.

Tim, you created a monster the very first time you blogged using photoshop. Only we don't have a Dr Frankenstein to blame for it. So we'll have to blame you. Guys, grab the pitchforks!

Bush has his own Rasputin Brothers. They're called Cheney and Rumsfield. Poor Rasputin didn't have an "undisclosed location" to hide at when the shit hit the fan. Interesting what it took to kill that guy! He was a real survivor.

I never thought the day would come. I don't know if we should be relieved or frightened...

THE Michael, You can pretty much do the digital photo manipulation with any photo software. I sometimes just use the stuff that came with my digital camera. The animation software cost like $12.95 to download from a shareware site. I imagine there is a freeware version somewhere. My point is that you don't need a full blown version of Photoshop to create or enhance images. So let your imagination run wild(er).

Kristy, Be afraid. Be very afraid. :)

I think what disturbs me even more is that the header keeps changing.... is nothing stable here?

Hayden, You are the only person who seems to have even noticed. It's just a little experiment I've been doing with matching the masthead to my moods. And stable is for boats, not blogs :)

There must have been some sort of glitch with my home computer. The photo did not move until I logged into my computer at work.

I thought the photo was creepy before... now... it freaked the hell out of me.

What is this new program you're using? I worked with layers all weekend and still didn't come up with something worthy of being posted. You make it all seem so easy.

Shandi,
It could be java script is disabled on your home computer or simply a matter of rebooting. It's a simple animation program I downloaded off a shareware site. It's called Easy GIF Animator or something like that. You load a few images with slight changes and the program animates them at a speed you choose. They can be amusing or annoying depending upon your Internet access speed.

Hang in there with layers. I've been messing around with them for about 10 years now.
