Clues

I think it is impossible to write anything without leaving clues to your personality. How about a shopping list, you may ask. Yes, even a shopping list will tell something about you, or at least about what you like to eat and what personal hygiene products you use (or need). For example I buy generic dandruff shampoo. An astute observer would deduce that I am flaky and cheap.

But I digress.

Even famous authors put their personalities in their writing. For example, I'm willing to bet that Stephan King is one disturbed puppy. Just a hunch.

So after almost three years of blogging, I imagine you could paint a pretty fair picture of who I am if you weeded through the 600 or so posts I've made. For example, you would discover that my favorite color is blue, I'm morbidly afraid of those people who hand out samples in grocery stores, I hate telephones and I like 70s rock musicals.

Okay, perhaps there is more to me than that.

I hope.

There is a lot more to you than that and I've only been reading your blog for about 4 months. Lets see, kind, funny, a great writer, very creative with photo shop, a loving husband, a great friend.....ok I'd better stop before I give you a swelled head. You're the best, that about sums it up.

The best part is that we don't stop learning. I'm curious as to what else we may learn about you over the next several years.

Angel, Well that would explain why I can never find hats that fit :) Thanks

Shandi,
I guess part of my fear is that there is no more to learn and I'll be endlessly repeating myself. But I suppose that is just a bunch of my own internal jibba jabba. :)

re: clues to personality.... I think all of us who blog would agree to that; and all of us who've met people we first met online would also hesitate.

I've met a couple of people that I first met online that were true to who I thought they were - Shandi is one. But - I'll admit to a couple of others that I got dead wrong.

So I'll keep reading and collecting pieces of the puzzle!

Shandi, I doubt if you have bored anyone to tears. But I still don't think the purpose of blogging is just to entertain other people. I think we need to entertain ourselves first. And you're right, I shouldn't worry about running out of things to blog about. I am pretty good at making stuff up :)

Hayden,
I guess the operative word here is "clues" to the personalities. I think the danger of trying to determine who a person is based on only one dimension is that you end up projecting a bit. Thus you can be disppointed that the person you meet isn't the person you thought they were. I seriously doubt if most people met me that they'd find me how they "thought" I'd be based on reading my blog. I really appear quite normal when you meet me for the first time. :)

I think you love your face. And now I'm wondering if you're going to post your shopping list next.

You're right - we leak out tiny bits of information about ourselves all the time. I like those tiny leaks, as opposed to the blatant "this is me" posts. Maybe that's why I'm not terribly fond of those meme posts. You do the leaks very well - always maintaining a mysterious air.

Miss Bliss,
I am just a simple, country boy. But through the miracles of digital photography and Photoshop, what you see isn't necessarily what you get.

Anna,
Love isn't a word I'd use for my face. I use if for the same reason artist's throughout the ages have done self portraits. It is there and I can use if freely. And alas my shopping list is primarily in my head like everything else.

I dislike meme's as well. I prefer people reveal things naturally rather than respond artificially to a list.

I like the idea of being mysterious, though!

We do drop clues with even our most innocuous posts ... and that in itself is the fun of being part of the blogosphere!! You may be flaky and cheap, but I bet you're not cheap and flaky ;-) JP

I find you, and so many others absolutely fascinating!
I love learning new things about people .... it gives me greater insights into myself as well.

I look forward to gathering more clues!

This post got me thinking. I believe you were trying to tell us that there was some deep hidden meaning to be garnered from rereading all 600 of your posts. Well, I've done it and, if I've intrerpreted the signs correctly you're trying to tell us that Paul McCartney died in a car accident in 1966 and was secretly replaced.

I should note, however, that I didn't have time to reread all the posts so I just listened to the White album. Seemed like it'd be a lot easier and it took way less time.

I should also point out that Revolution #9 SUCKS...

Blaznfyre,
That is a wonderful way to look at it. Thanks.

Lights,
There are actually 616 posts, but you can get back to me once I've written the one after 909. And everybody has something to hide except for me and my monkey. Goo goo ga choo.
